Unlike other approaches, a perspective focused on the translator's understanding of this knowledge's meaning for its narrators has received limited attention. This article, informed by the principles of narrative inquiry, promotes a human-centric framework for examining translator knowledge through narratives, shifting the research paradigm from a positivist to a post-positivist perspective to investigate how translators create meaning from their experiences and shape them into a sequential and meaningful narrative. The fundamental question revolves around the strategies that shape distinct identity types. Senior Chinese translators will carry out a comprehensive holistic and structured analysis of five narratives, differentiating macro and micro contexts. Recognizing the approaches utilized by scholars in different domains, the research identifies four recurring narrative structures: personal, public, conceptual/disciplinary, and metanarrative, which are present in our case studies. Narrative micro-analysis demonstrates that life's events are frequently presented in a sequential order, with crucial events emphasized as markers of change or pivotal moments.
